There are many fans like you and me who have hleped the club financially through the years. Pornomagboy's comments are amusing in hindsight but I may be the only person to on NSC to agree with the fact that he's the one whose bought his seat so he can do what he like. Some of us like BOF slate Mickey Adams as soon as as the team go 2-0 down and then go quiet on that front when we get a remarkable victory... basically most of us are pretty fickle when it comes to football. I for one didn't think we had a chance tonight.... you've gotta love the albion. 15th now...

Having a ST doesn't necessarily make you any more loyal than a non-ST supporter. It just means you probably have more disposable income and/or nothing more important in life (girlfriend etc).

I don't have a season ticket, but try telling my other half that I'm not loyal after she watched me bounce around the flat going spastic at our second and third goals tonight. :albion2:

I don't have a season ticket, but try telling my other half that I'm not loyal after she watched me bounce around the flat going spastic at our second and third goals tonight. :albion2:

I'm not saying you or me are un-loyal but I do see ST holders as our most loyal supporters. it makes sense like.

Part of the fun of not having a ST is going completely ballistic at home when we equalise and scaring the neighbours shouting your head off. my neighbours must have been pretty scared that a murder was being carried out during the Man city game...

We were dodgy at the back in the first half, I don't have a clue what Hawkins was doing for their goals. I thought Sullivan had a superb debut, his kicking was alittle suspect in the first half, but second half it improved immensely. When Savage came off, we looked a hell of alot better side. Thornton again was quality, his jinking runs into the balls brought Thomson and Bradley into the game. We still need another striker on loan by Saturday.

Oh dear....Oh dear....!

Unlucky lad...........to be fair to you though, I,m sure you attend most home AND away games, and if the away games have been half as bad as the tripe served up home games (apart from tonight) I well understand you making a point in leaving at half time. The utter rubbish that Mickey Adams has put on the pitch this season is quite understandably the reason for your despair at half-time.

Let,s face it..................who honestly believed we,d get something out of this game at half-time....?

Add to this, the "penalty" that Leicester were denied, and the disallowed goal in the first half, quite honestly, Leicester can consider themselves unfortunate.

Ignore the comments from those who weren,t there..........most of them have no idea how grim it has been.

Lesson for the future though..........can,t quite remember who said it..........................." Keep the Faith"....!:lol:

FFS. We were 2:0 down against a quality side. There is absolutely no shame in that.

I was thinking that at half-time. One of the best sides in this division, hardly concede a goal, had only lost once (at home) and we were without our two main goal scorers, low on confidence and winless in how many games?. 2-0 didn't seem too bad at all.

I'm going to assume that comment is tongue in cheek, Safeway. I have to pay for my ST in three instalments, I simply couldn't do it in one go, and still have to undertake UN style delicate negotiations to get myself to anything other than a home league game due to a g/f of seven years who's not into footie. So you cut out your wild generalisations you git. :p

As for leaving at half time, well I have to confess that at h/t tonight I was wondering why I bother negotiating an early escape from work, traipsing down from London and getting home after midnight every midweek home game. But the second half was one of those times which remind you why you put up with all the shit stuff most weeks - when it's good, it's bloody great. Reactionary rubbish I would hope, Nemesis. If he means it, well he clearly doesn't think he's missing a lot does he?

I went to the 4-4 draw between Spurs and Villa last season with a mate who's a season ticket holder at White Hart Lane. At 4-1 to Villa two blokes in front of us, who'd complained relentlessly from the first whistle, even after they scored first, buggered off, thereby missing the best comeback I've ever seen. If you do it, you run the risk and can't complain in the bloody slightest if you miss an amazing turnaround, and possibly fit Scandanavians trying on underwear, if a previous post is to be believed...

Agree with your view on the match, both halves were entertaining and we certainly wasn't aweful as some would suggest.

it amases me how many seem to get pissed off if we are not winning within a couple of minutes, the matches last 90 minutes and anything can happen, eg. one match we were 3-0 down with 5 minutes to go and our sub came on and grabbed a hat-trick and we ended up with a draw.

Spent the first half following the game on my Blackberry at Madrid Airport. As we landed at Gatwick I switched it back on with a heavy heart only to see the magic 3-2 on the BBC videprinter and let out a yelp of delight that pointed out to my fellow travellers that I was indeed jeopardising the flight communications. And the next score waspalace 1 Forest 2!
I gave my family's 3 STs to a neighbour who took his 6yo (and friend) for the first time so I just hope they survived the cold and stayed longer than pornomagboy 'cos I hope we will have some life converts.
Never leave before the end - Keep The Faith!!
O and Real 3 Bilbao 2 was pretty good too: the Basques deserved a point not least for the horrible abuse the smug Franco-wanks were giving the small band of proud Athletic fans I was sat near.
Can't wait for Millwall now.

Perhaps the club could refund say HALF his season ticket money and have him removed from all games at half time in future.

At halftime there can only have been a handful of fans (if that) at the game who thought we could win, but the rest of us stayed. This is the lovely thing about football - you can't predict the final score right up until the final whistle, and you certainly can't at halftime. Fantastic turnaround and it makes up for some of the last-minute goals we've conceded.

One of my mates similarly walked out of a home game against Walsall back in 1977/8 when it was 0-0 at half-time and we had been terrible. OK, it was bloody freezing like last night and we'd all got a good soaking on the East Terrace from the torrential rain and sleet throughout the first half but I (and the rest) still remember his passing words: "I'll see you mugs in the Stadium (Holmes Avenue) after the game".
The Albion ended up winning 7-0 (Ward 4, Spider 3) so we all trooped along Old Shoreham Road and gave him a terrible time for the rest of the evening. That teasing continues to this day over 30 years on, so enjoy the rest of your life PMB and many, many thanks for such a priceless post.:laugh::laugh:

My grandson I must admit wanted also to leave at half time last night, because he thought we were playing really badly. He said the next half could be embarrassing.
I then told him that I never leave a game early as we have come back in games before and I told him about the Colchester game at the Preistfield. He looked at me and said yer right!!
The difference between him and Pornomagboy, is that he is only 13 and has never witnessed a comeback by the Albion like that before. At the end he was jumping around shouting and screaming and said to me, “ Wow granddad just to think I wanted to leave at half time”
Lesson learned I think for him about being an Albion fan.

But I couldn't leave, I never can. If you always leave when being done, you'll never see a great come-back, and if I wanted to see quality football, I wouldn't support the Albion.

I'm not sure what you had against Sulivan though, he wasn't to blame for the goals, he had a good game. I don't really have a problem with you leaving though. As a season ticket holder, you support the club financially, and it's fair if you've had enough once in a while. But you've gotta laugh at this one, you've made a right tit of yourself.

My take on last nights game was this

First half was awful we could have been losing 4 - 0 as they had a definate penalty turn down

Some people i know that left were absolutely freezing so losing 2 -0 at half time and the fact of how shit we have been all season i don't blame them - i would hav egone if i could because it was so cold.

second half we played a lot better but i think that had a lot to do with bringing thornton on - i find it difficult to understand why we have a loan player like him and leave him on the bench - if the reason is he is not match fit then he did very well for someone that isn't?

This match reminded me very much of the man city game - a game of 2 very different halves

Not really sure what you lot are wetting your pants about?

By all accounts we were playing crap and I know first hand that it was pretty cold as I was at a game myself last night so I can't blame anyone for leaving at half time. Probably should have gone to the pub instead of hurrying home to post on NSC but other than that fair play to the lad. If he'd stayed and boo'd the team you'd all be moaning so the lad can't win.

Myself and Tubby Monday stayed in Newcastle to watch the derby game on Saturday so consequently missed the first half hour of the Hartlepool game. It was bloody freezing and we were never going to score so we only watched half an hour of the second half. Could have easily missed a goal.

In fact we worked out on Saturday that over the last couple of weeks we've travelled over 1000 miles to watch Brighton (Leeds and Hartlepool) and seen a grand total of zero goals despite 5 being scored over the two games (was in the bar for the first two at Leeds and then had left for the last two and was in a taxi for Hartlepool's on Saturday).

I always thought people that left games early were Man Utd types, however I have often been at a late away match and watched from the exit door to enable me to atempt a quick getaway, however I often feel I let the players down by not clapping them....

I was at the Yankee football game on Sunday and with about a minute or so to go the Saints intercepted a pass, thus looking like the game would end with a Saints win.

I was amazed how many poeple left probably two thirds of the stadium, the game actually went down to he last play which I so wanted the Chargers to compelete, just as a lesson to the early leaving brigage.

Three people left our section early against Man City to jeers, and then had to sneak back in when it went to extras. Love it...

You can't blame people for leaving at half time?? Half of the game? With 45minutes left to play. It's ridiculous whether you're cold or not. We're all cold, but we bear it as we want to see our team play. I don't know why people have the opinion we were shit in the first half because we weren't, for the first 25 minutes or so we played some good football.

I can blame someone for leaving at a stupid stage and making a bit of a fool of themselves on NSC (well done matey:thumbsup:).

However why the fuck is everyone on such a high-horse about being "proper supporters" and all that bollocks? He pays his money, it was hardly a sellout so its not like he took a seat someone else could have had, and what difference does it make to the pitch if a couple of people choose to leave rather than sit there in absolute silence until we get a flukey deflected goal, like the rest of us did?

Giving up the time and money whilst you are there helps the club - if you choose to leave you may well hurt yourself (point proven), but I don't buy into the idea that you're hurting the team.

If you are a neutral and you think the game is crap and you want to leave at half time then that's your prerogative.

If you consider yourself a supporter then to leave at half time, however crap your team is, is crazy.

Stay and support your team. Moan if you must, but support.

In almost 50 years of watching the Albion I have NEVER left more than a minute or two maximum before the end except for once away at Brentford when we were crap and lost 4-0. But even then I stuck it out until 10 minutes before the end.

But to leave at half time is unbelievable!

I dont think the problem is him leaving the game, it is the fact that he left at half time, and 6 minutes into the 2nd half he was on here posting how shit the team is, wanting the manager out. Then went on to tell someone he was not a proper fan for not being at the game despite the fact that he lives miles away from the ground.
