A top, top evening. Great to put faces to people and learn a bit more about them. It's very odd to discover "normal" stuff about individuals who had previously only existed as purveyors of filth and wild sexual fantasies.
Top marks to Safeway for all the organisation. Many thanks to the staff at the Nelson (for not throwing us out, despite everything that went on).
The contingents from Reading and Cardiff seemed to have a good time - thanks for coming, guys. A major no-show from our oriental friend from Watford, though.
Accolade of the night came from none other than Lord Bassam - "You lot seemed to be having a good time".
Not having the required ID, I gave the clubbing a miss.
Photos to follow soon.

Absolutely top night out!
Lots of thanks to Safeway for sorting it out - top lad!
As a little taster of the night, here's some pics I've just bunged online quickly...

Great night out last night, thanks to Safeway
xx
Tremendous entertainment!
A great turn out and a complete range of diverse characters.
M.C. Safeway must be congratulated on his efforts, and The Nelson Pub congratulated for their tolerance.
Some of the highlights of the evening for me included..........
Just meeting everyone.........
The Leicester Whore proving that bad taste is still quite funny.
Safeway's 'fixed' and totally camp award ceremony.
The regular sounds of smashing glasses.
The various suitors for Trotster all trying their luck with different and often vomit inducing chat up techniques.
The bumbling antics of The Orange Boy.
Johnnyboylennons straightforward philosophies on life!
Artois' picture session that he will not want published.
Tom Hark Preston Park's jollyness.
Yorkie and her 'toy boy'(who is now fully converted from Sheff Weds to the Albion)
Roz's table dancing!
and a hundred other gems that I have not got time to type.
Got a bit of a hangover today though, adn I went home early!
What went on at the club?
Top night despite arriving a little late due to a few probs that seem to now be sorted! (fingers crossed)
Well done to Safeway for organising such a gay evening, fantastic work cous!
Nice to meet Wilts and TLB, both top lads although i only spoke to Wilts briefly and as for Berkshire, well MMMMMMMMM lol, and nice to put a few more faces to names aswell, everyone i met were top people!
Quality moment was Cheshire Dolphin saying "i'm not drunk" seconds after trying to climb over stool and sending it flying across the floor without realising!
All in all it was a top night despite being the last to arrive
P.S. Can we have the full list of NSC award winners posted please :lolol:

Absolute top night. Took me ages to get home. (I should probably have gone back with DannyCullipLookalike'sdad at 10 or Simon at 10:30 but I was enjoying myself too much).
It's 10:30 in the morning and I still feel a little drunk. Within five minutes of entering the Nelson I felt "at home". The night far exceeded my expectations. I can now put faces to names for future games. I sincerely hope that the NSC meet will be a regular event. What a laugh!
Thanks to Safeway, Artois etc for organising. Great night!:drink:

thing is that i don't know if anyone there was a nsc regular and would have thought it to be an odd question to ask.......

echoing the sentiments of many, it was great to put a few names to faces, disappointed to have had to do a cinderalla and leave early but duty called and after being look-aliked to Kitson by a couple of you it seemed wholly appropriate that I didn't last the duration
on the subject of lookalikes, esteemed NSCer Lord Bracknell and esteemed character actor Ron Pearlman, star of Last Supper, Name of the Rose, Cronos etc. Seperated at birth???

edited footnote:
-not the picture I was trying to put up - but that's protected and most of the others I could find were when he was playing 'beast' in beauty and the beast (no offence intended, it took a lot of make-up m'lord)
I think there was a little bit of an incident after the club with Artois and an ambulance but I am sure he will explain later.
:(
I am still very drunk.:drink:

I only broke one glass!
Now i'm feeling quite hungover.
Cheers safeway for organising it and nice to see you all lads and lasses. :clap2:

I'm happy to blame Beefy. Even tho' I might just have contributed to the damage when I lost touch with the top of the table...

Left earlyish but still had a good crack. Went to the Enigma afterwards and got a little more drunk (if thats possible after a nine hour session and walked into various things on the way home. I'm hungry but theres nothing to eat.
Quality night, feeling it a bit this morning though!
Really chuffed with the turn out and especilly pleased to see so many of the more 'mature' posters along.
Everyone seemed to have a good time and hopefully yes, we can make it a regular thing. Christmas perhaps?
Many thanks again to Artois (get well soon mate), who did a absolutely grand job of publicising the evening and contributing to it's success.
Excellent pics from Roz, btw. Hope to see a few more in the coming day or so.
And I'm NOT CAMP!!!! Grr.

Glad it looked so good though. Next time, i'll be there.
Thanks for the award too. I've honestly thought that i am better than Crabtree.

And there is me looking away from the camera!
Trotster is gorgeous.
How did you get on with the fat Amanda Holden?
Bloody hell I never thought I was that ugly. :(
Just got home, well tired... quality to meet everyone and put faces to names, ended up in bed around 4:30am eventually.
Got the expected barrage of RFC abuse in the Nelson, but the alcohol dampened any possibility of me thinking of any decent chants in response. Probably quite ironic for a Reading fan, eh?

As far as I know, he's just a regular customer of the Nelson. He certainly wasn't at the Crawley game, because he was playing cricket yesterday afternoon, but he was interested in how the Albion performed. And he thinks we should sign Rougier.
Check out Mullers' views on Rougier if you want an answer to the second question.

I used to play in the same cricket team as Lord Bassam in 1983. I turned up to a match once in a foul mood as we had just sold a player on the cheap to Spurs (Gary Stevens) and he said 'Gary Who?'.
He never used to follow the Albion until it became a vote winner, good off spinner though

I got to the event fucking early cos my mate said "its nearly midnight we better get there soon" - turns out it was 10:30pm!! I got wankered and remember you being there along with AFC Womble....I danced abit and bumped into Artois and the guy in the blue shirt (sorry forget the name), then I got too drunk and scared of blazin squad wannabe's and left in a hurry for Cheeky Chicken about 12:30am
Ended up at my mates house demanding he put LOTR: The Two Towers on but fell asleep and got home about 3:30am.....the rest was drunken today (sunday) :D
if you liken me to the almighty FRANK then I must be special :p
OK Turkey, don't say I never think of you...

Danny: "No one's he was some guy we didn't know who just crashed at our place!"

Mainly usernames, except for Mike ("Gullhanger") who I knew as Mike before he was officially "Gullhanging" and Simon who, like me, doesn't have an NSC username.
More worryingly was my tendency to refer to Lord Bracknell by his username throughout the evening...

Good night. That Quadrophenia poster is class roz.
Popkins - the bloke who looks like Keith from the Office is The Large One (although im not surprised you didnt notice him on the night as for most of it you were attempting to get two random birds back to your sleazy Shoreham shag-nest!)
Everyone chanting "You got sacked you got sacked you got sacked" at me when i arrived was a touching moment, thank you all. *****....
Nelson was better than the event, where i had to watch Beefy trying to pull anything with a mini skirt and a pulse. Had a laugh though, you missed out Buzza!
Turkey in the skip was a classic moment, although Berkshire was still calling turkey 'Beefy' at the end of the night. MMMMMMMM :p
Whoever mentioned those birds dressed up as coppers just reminded me. When i did my bungy jump in New Zealand i met a bird from Worthing who pointed out my Brighton shirt. I then kept bumping into her as i travelled round NZ. I think she may have been stalking me. Anyway, havent seen her since March in NZ, so i was quite shocked when it turned out that one of the copper slappers was that bird. Freaked me out in my drunken state.
Me and Artios had some fun with one of their truncheons though.... ooo-er.....
Shocking what happened to Artois afterwards, and the most annoying thing is that 5 of us were nearby where it was all happening and were completely oblivious to it. GGGrrrrrrr.
Comedy injured elbow from Artios though......... Quote of the night "What the fuck is that on my arm?!" :lolol:
Gald theres no proper damage mate.
Good to meet everyone, Yorkie, Buzza, Popkins, PC Beard, Cheshire, Berkshire, LB and Wilts etc as well as everyone I already know. (Turkey - whats the fucks a 'cliche'?)
Simons commentary on the "who is gonna pull Trotster" fiasco was priceless. Beefy and Artois both made ridiculous attempts on the young lady. Hope your bird doesnt see those photos Martin David Cooper Seagull........
Cheers Safeway and Artois for organising the whole shebang, and we must do it more often once the season gets underway. But no more super-gayness from Safeway, you'll give us Brighton fans a reputation my lad.

More pics to come tonight, btw. I've got Yorkie's which I've got to host later on.
cool I cant wait for more pics, definatley remember Roz I think flashing her...camera flash directly in my direction at somepoint ;) Think it was before the almost fatal table dancing incident :lolol:
Safeway at the next meet-up or pre-game meet-up or if we should happen to bump into each other in the revenge one night I'll buy you a pint for doing so well with the 19th, same go's for Artois as I believe he helped out...HOLD ME TO THAT!
Not sure if you're joking about the Revenge but fuck it, I'm up for that. Think it's the only gay bar in Brighton I've not been in. Apart from the Bulldog.

Scan them, save them to 'my pictures' and email them as an attachment to Safeway

I must have taken about 20 pics of the evening. Just haven't got round to getting them developed and put on CD.
It's a bit of a slowburner, and I suspect that our individual and collective embarrassment of the evening may take a few days more to come out. I ended up in The Gloucester that night with a club full of mingers looking like pitbulls licking lemon juice off a razor blade. Couldn't wait to get home after that in case I turned to stone.
Incidentally, Roz - top quality pics and mock up of the Band On The Run and Quadrophenia posters. The Way of Life set up was one we were hoping for, and it came out brilliantly. The Band on the Run was a great bonus.
Congrats to Lord Bracknell for sweeping the board that night. There's only one Richard Branson :lolol:

I am incredibly sorry for what happened on Saturday. I was gearing up for a free party with some mates and really shouldn't have come. To be honest I cannot remember anything past a trip to the park on Saturday morning with a few old chums, and woke up somewhere in Hastings on Sunday morning bleeding heavily, it was not a good night.
I offer my most sincere humble and grovelling apologies again, I am really chuffed to see everyone had a top time.

Thanks for the very kind words, sir! Largesse indeed!
But talking of getting pics developed reminds me that a little "CD gallery" sort of idea was dreamt up on Satdi night.
Basically, lots of people have taken lots of pics - I've only put up a few of the 50 or so that I took - and everyone wants to see ALL the photographic evidence. Now though its possible to get things online easily if you've got your own hosting arrangement (or if a nice person like Safeway provides that facility) there's still only so many pics that anybody's bandwidth can cope with.
And to get pics online and downloadable sometime before the next NSC event, you have to sacrifice some quality. My original pics, for example, being far higher size and resolution. The same will go for everyone else who is scanning prints for the web or editing digital pics where the maximum size is likely to be around 600 pixels wide, 72 ppi resolution (normal web res).
So the idea was this...."someone" (me I think!) invites everyone to put their original sized pics on a CD via scanner or picture CD or however you've got 'em stored at the moment. I'll then collect the whole lot of them into one BIG CD photo gallery and release this to anyone who wants a copy. You can then view them on your computer, print off decent high-res copies or whatever. Anyroad you'd have a permanent (and decent quality) photographic memory of the event. And absolutely LOADS of pics! Including the "Way of Life" poster. A good cover pic, perhaps?
CDs would cost a nominal sum (suggestions welcome) which would cover the cost of the CD and a small donation to REMF.
Whaddya think?

Good talking to you on Satdee nayat.
Quality notion, Roz. If you are OK to store, collect and publish the pics, (we could be talking 200+ pics) that suits me fine. I have the kit at work here, but not the time. Soz, Roz.
Although I would be happy run off high quality A4 or A3 copies of the Way of Life poster and the group pic in the pub. Can you email me a hi-res jpeg copy of the WoL poster? a.wares@medialab.uk.com
I think a £7.50 donation to cover costs and P&P, with all profits to REMF would be OK. What does everyone else think?
PM (not email) The Large One or Roz, if you are interested.

Top idea and I'd certainly purchase one of these CD's.

No probs. I'm happy to do it.

Coming over. The pic, that is....!
Yes I would buy one. I/Biscuit can host pics at redontheedge.com but I dunno about the bandwidth etc as to how many he could store. All that stuff is way over my head.
Ignoring the tecchie stuff, the difference between the CD and being able to view the pics on the net is down to volume, suze and variety. Because the CD will provide BIG pics and LOADS of 'em! Hopefully, all the pics that everyone took on the night.
Roz. If you find there is free space on the CD I have loads of pics of NSCers which could fill the space. Six-A-Side footy, Cleethorpes etc. May as well get as much on as pos.
Now who remembers me saying Piercy had lost a lot of weight at Crawley!
Looks like it was due to illness.. half a stone.
Told ya. :D
How peed off am I that I missed a great night and loads of beers due to family commitments - and it wasn't even my family!
I hope that the DAFT Bint representatives behaved themselves and I can promise a bigger turnout - oo er - from the DAFT Bints next time. A four line whip, I promise you.
Apologies for starting another thread, thought it would be easier than troughing through the other one.
Pics courtesy of Yorkie. If you've got any that need hosting, send them to guybutters@hotmail.com . He's got nothing better to do.
