Sussex Masters (35+ age) at Lewes Track last night. Great old school athletics meet.
My A race was the 800m. Hit it hard from the start for a 2:49 time at a nice 5:40 mile pace. Came second to last. Positive splits 1:23 to 1:27 came close to an ideal 1:24 1:26 apparently.
Half an hour on I felt it in the 3000m. About 40 runners mass started including the just over 35 Sussex top boys. Within 4 laps they started tearing past in packs of 3 or 4. I progressively slowed away from target 6:30 mile pace to get a hard fought 12:42 at 6:48 mile pace.
A great social/sporting meet. Have to ignore being at the back (best to not look behind) and take the respective 77% and 74% AGs in events that I have ruled out of the table.
Onwards and backwards.

TBH I am not sure how you are defining SB, if you mean this season then no as that PB was about 4 years ago but if it's the best SB ever then yes. Does that make sense?

We use Season's Best (SB) from the current calendar year. We add the current SB as people present them to the thread, and reset by clearing data in the SB and AG columns from the table in the New Year.

The table is then sorted on the 5k times in this order - AG% for SB, SB, PB

@Garry Nelson's teacher has been top of table for several years on the basis of being an annoyingly fast older gent!

Give us your best 5k time this year with AG to stay in the NSC top 10. Otherwise I'll have to place you back where you were ranked on PB as no data for 2024.
Will certainly give you a shout out when I eventually get to Littlehampton.

Ah - in that case then obviously not a SB. I'll have to look what it is this calendar year - it won't be anywhere near 23 that's for sure! I've got considerably slower in the past 12 months and still trying to regain some speed whilst overcoming my advancing years. I am hoping to get enough miles in my legs this year to do the Centurion 50 mile 4 race slam next year. On my training plan is the Sussex Trail Events Tunnel Marathon in November....

Best time in 13 months with 22:31 and a 73.80% AG at Merthyr Tydfil this morning. Along the River Taff; the undulations made you fight and 5 sharp turns around single cones added to time.
Unfortunately my calf that could do 800m and 3000m on Monday failed again at 5k. Few days rest should be enough. It might be the Adidas Adizero.

Ooh, a timely reappearance of the table. I did a 5k in Buffalo on Saturday. It was their marathon weekend, with the 5k on Saturday and the half/full marathons on Sunday. I was really just there to have beers and watch some of my friends on Sunday but I couldn't go without running, so the 5k was the obvious choice.

It was a good decision. I finished 8th overall and I was the fastest in the M40-44 category, with a time of 18:58 (71.75 AG)

Nothing to add to the table, but I did bust out 4.2 miles yesterday morning in the 29°C heart of Playa del Carmen. Ran laps of the resort and bumped into the same people a few times, who probably thought I was mad!

In other news, my Garmin has run out of power and I forgot to bring the adaptor #FirstWorldProblems
